Cei Newydd, Ceredigion<\/h2>\n

Tan ddechrau\u2019r bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg, nid oedd ond ychydig o fythynnod to gwellt yng Nghei Newydd, wedi\u2019u hamgylchynu gan dir amaethyddol, ac roedd yr harbwr naturiol yn darparu lloches i gychod pysgota ac ambell i long fasnachol fechan. Pasiwyd Deddf Harbwr Cei Newydd ym 1835 ac adeiladwyd pier cerrig am gost o \u00a37,000. Cafwyd cynnydd mewn masnachu yn sgil hynny, ac adeiladwyd tai newydd wrth i ymfudwyr economaidd gyrraedd y dref. Dechreuodd seiri llongau weithredu a thyfodd y dref eto pan adeiladwyd rhesi o dai i fyny\u2019r rhiw uwchlaw\u2019r bae.<\/p>\n
